Pros

Mostly nice people to work with. Good benefits and relocation package if you come from out of state. Good location.

Cons

Can't speak for other dept., but IT is the worst and lowest professional place I've ever worked at. Mid management don't know what they are doing, but keep fixing and patching things. Leadership can't say or don't want to share what IT's core business is. Project gets delayed so they blame other functions. They try to run an IT delivery model that converts IT dept. into a ticketing system, and forcing business to use only three vendors which no one know who they are and how they are qualified. One mid manager terrorizes the whole place by using endless escalations, complaints, and bad-mouthing. CIO had a great vision of changing the place, but implementation deviated to disaster. It used to be a good place to go to work, but now it is soaked with ego, ignorance, finger-pointing and fear. This place is a big time waster for IT professionals who wants to develop skills and career path because you don't learn any new technologies here, and you pretty much have no place to go up as 70% of headcount is contractors, and the rest of 25% act as HR busy hiring contractors to do the job. You wish the rest 5% will hang on here to do the heavy lifting.

Pros

Meaningful, mission-driven work with the opportunity to contribute to projects that can have a real impact on patients. Colleagues are highly knowledgeable, supportive, and generally willing to provide mentorship. Gilead also offers strong resources, exposure to different functions within the pharmaceutical industry, and opportunities to work on high-visibility projects.

Cons

Cons: As with many large companies, decision-making and project approvals can sometimes move slowly because of multiple layers of review. The experience may also vary depending on the specific team and manager, and the number of meetings and internal processes can occasionally feel cumbersome.

Pros

-The only pros are the amazing benefits - probably the best 401K I've seen as well as the highly competitive salaries.

Cons

-Lack of culture is a growing and rampant issue - there is a very high level of favoritism -Micromanagement from senior leadership - instances occuered where they essentially forced an employee to resign and not directly fire him/her just so that they wouldn't have to pay severence package, etc. Managers want to just make themselves look good and make it clear that your only job is to acf as if they are God's gift to this messed up planet. -Lack of proper communication and frequent unnecessary team meetings held which are a waste of time and do not accomplish any desirable results.
