Pros

Health and wellness facilities. That’s about it.

Cons

I rarely leave reviews, but I feel it’s important to provide an honest perspective for anyone considering employment here. While the company may offer opportunities on the surface, the internal environment is challenging and, at times, toxic. There is a noticeable culture of favoritism, where advancement and recognition are often based on personal relationships rather than merit or performance. Backchanneling and backstabbing are unfortunately common, creating an atmosphere of mistrust among colleagues. Constructive feedback is rarely welcomed, and speaking up about concerns can lead to being isolated or overlooked. Leadership, and middle useless managers tends to protect favorites and ignore valid concerns, which not only demoralizes employees but also stifles innovation and collaboration. If you’re someone who values transparency, fairness, and psychological safety in the workplace, this may not be the best fit. Not everything is negative—there are smart, hard-working people here who try to make the best of it—but until the underlying culture is addressed, the environment will continue to be difficult.

Pros

Meaningful, mission-driven work with the opportunity to contribute to projects that can have a real impact on patients. Colleagues are highly knowledgeable, supportive, and generally willing to provide mentorship. Gilead also offers strong resources, exposure to different functions within the pharmaceutical industry, and opportunities to work on high-visibility projects.

Cons

Cons: As with many large companies, decision-making and project approvals can sometimes move slowly because of multiple layers of review. The experience may also vary depending on the specific team and manager, and the number of meetings and internal processes can occasionally feel cumbersome.
