Pros

Not much I can think of, by all metrics our company got worse after being bought by global payments

Cons

This happened to my company, and after coming across someone else who's company was bought by global payments I realized it's a trend(not that I didn't suspect that already). They bought our company, which had a great culture and work/live balance(albeit pay was lower than industry standard). Immediately started bringing in more cheap overseas remote devs, and immediately replaced our normal performance-based rases with company-wide 3% raises. Demands increased steadily, many team members started quitting(I expect this was the goal) but weren't replaced, while expectations continued increasing. Eventually everyone was so stressed and teams were half the size with twice the work, and new products were being given to the overseas teams. Eventually those that didn't quit were mostly laid off, old products were replaced by new versions created by the overseas teams, etc. YOu know the pattern. It was just greedy corporate practices like you'd expect when a big company buys a smaller one, but it was so cold and and bold. I knew this kinda stuff happened but was shocked by it still
