Pros

Great relationship with team members and a great PTO package

Cons

The company completely lacks internal training and professional development opportunities. This would be helpful for all levels to have official programs in place, especially for those seeking promotion. They expect you to fully do your job without little to no training but then penalize you if you commit a mistake. They have an internal training department which does everything BUT train incoming or I house employees. Also many teams are overworked and easily exceed 40 hours in a typical week. Employees are burned out often developing high anxiety.

Pros

Hands-On Experience with Modern Infrastructure Friendly and Supportive Culture Great Resume Builder Work-Life Balance If you value a supportive team culture, a manageable workload, and building high-scale professional project experience, a Global Payments internship is a fantastic stepping stone, especially for launching a career in FinTech or platform engineering.

Cons

Uncertainty Around Full-Time Pipeline Varying Tech Stacks by Team: Because the company encompasses many different product lines and acquired systems, your experience can vary wildly depending on the specific team you land on. Some teams work on cutting-edge, next-gen cloud platforms, while others are tasked with maintaining or upgrading older legacy architectures.
