Pros

- It's a paycheck - You can collect said paycheck without having to do much work if you hide in obscurity

Cons

- Hands down the worst place I have ever worked and I used to pick up trash and clean bathrooms at a theme park - Continues to get worse through the "transformation" efforts with McKinsey. This is in actuality a giant cost savings exercise. - Senior level management has no clue what they're doing - The amount of inane bureaucracy in this company would make the Federal government blush

Pros

Hands-On Experience with Modern Infrastructure Friendly and Supportive Culture Great Resume Builder Work-Life Balance If you value a supportive team culture, a manageable workload, and building high-scale professional project experience, a Global Payments internship is a fantastic stepping stone, especially for launching a career in FinTech or platform engineering.

Cons

Uncertainty Around Full-Time Pipeline Varying Tech Stacks by Team: Because the company encompasses many different product lines and acquired systems, your experience can vary wildly depending on the specific team you land on. Some teams work on cutting-edge, next-gen cloud platforms, while others are tasked with maintaining or upgrading older legacy architectures.
