Pros

Some managers are helpful and competent. But they all extremely busy. Colleagues are helpful and patient Quarterly bonuses

Cons

A few managers are toxic, rude, cannot speak English fluently Manpower shortage Need to support manufacturing 24/7 (eg. approvals, lot disposition) Cannot reject OT request Annual leave is based on first come first serve Lots of administrative, logistical, and repetitive work. Sometimes a bachelor degree holder might feel overqualified for the job Pay is low compared to the average Chinese speaking environment, even when non-chinese speaking employees are around them

Pros

The pros for GlobalFoundries heavily out weigh the cons as an intern. I have experienced a welcoming and supportive environment from my team and coworkers. I have also been given the opportunity to heavily contribute to projects on site and make an impact instead of just observing.

Cons

As an intern, the experience goes by quickly, and there is always more to learn than time allows. Some projects and processes can have steep learning curves at first, but support is always readily available.
