Pros
You can commiserate with fellow employees about how stressful the day-to-day is. Chat groups on Microsoft Teams where you can just bs with your friends and plan get-togethers. At least when I was there, overtime was fairly generous.
Cons
The last 6 or so months of my employment there was nothing short of an absolute nightmare. I ended up needing to seek mental health treatment due to intense stress and panic attacks. The absolute worst parts are how team leads and mgmt preach having new ideas and thinking outside the box, however, the same people have been there so long that they're too set in their ways to make any sort of changes. Also, my position was very dependent on a phone and email queue. Obviously the phones needed to be answered without exception, but on top of that, the emails needed to be answered in a very short window of time. Still, you are straddled with a mountain of side tasks that are often tedious and confusing. If you jump out of the email or phone queues to handle the side tasks, your asks why you needed to jump out. If you're focused on the queues, you're asked why you couldn't complete the side tasks. Additionally, there is so much turnover that you're often asked to take on tasks that are not even in your job description, and you can forget about increased compensation because of it. I practically begged and pleaded for a raise due to my time of service and increase of responsibilities and to say I was given the run around is an absolute understatement. Lastly, work life balance is an absolute joke. Scheduling time off, or getting away for an hour doctor's appointment is met with undertones of hostility and guilt trips. From my experience, I would highly recommend looking elsewhere.
