People:
There are some talented people. However, majority of the corporate culture is bureaucratic and the decisions are purely for self-interest rather for the interest of the company. We are talking downright “Mean Girls” type of Politics. Super cringy
Processes
There are two extremes, either there will be an overkill with processes or no guidelines at all.
Culture
Accountability and ethics, what does that mean? Hint: it doesn’t often exist or is overlooked.
Inclusion and Diversity in IT was lacking; some BU’s were diverse though.
Company tolerates bad employees behavior and does not always take the right course of action
Promotions
Be ready to continuously justify your promotions and even then, it may be a title one without a proper comp increase. People often tend to get promoted based on political alliances and favorability rather than actual merit.
Management
Some management is good but overall experience is that management makes decisions that aren’t often well thought of or yield a good outcome. Decision making is often in silo’s and not transparent.
Warning: The sheer audacity to question or give feedback on quite literally dumb decisions can lead to a miserable work life. So success criteria is zip your mouth and put a blind fold over your eyes.
Tip: make sure to take all your belongings at the office before resigning. Failure to do so will result in mysterious loss and non responsiveness from the company. That was the cherry on top.
