Pros

- WFH is super flexible - Relaxed professional clothes are allowed in the office - Low annual billable requirement - The staff in the NY offices are great

Cons

HR weirdly micromanages. The first HR Generalist I had was universally hated by the attorneys & staff alike. The second HR Generalist had zero experience in a law firm & didn't know the difference between an assistant & paralegal. In an interesting turn of events one of the Partners in a downstate NY office was blatantly committing malpractice & embarrassing the firm. When evidence was presented to HR & leadership they did nothing. The Partner wasn't forced to retire, quit, etc. Just quietly brushed it under the rug. They are a smaller/mid-sized firm that thinks they can compete with Big Law like Kirkland, Paul Weiss, DLA etc. They have lawsuits that they are entirely unequipped to handle. Also it seems like the firm just hemorrhages money when they don't have the income to support the expenses. This was made clear when offices were forced to significantly downsize, there was a mass exodus of attorneys, and offices were moved from cities/metro areas to the suburbs.
