Pros

Literally none. Choose another bank or credit union to work for

Cons

1) Under paid. Pay is not competitive when compared to other institutions. Especially when you are in branch management. Definitely not worth moving up in this company. They massively increase your work load and you have to fight for a 25 cent raise for your promotion. 2) They dont care at all about your safety. Customers get angry and curse and even threaten you. But upper management bends over backwards to make that customer happy at the expense of your happiest. This leads to more customers cursing us and threatening us because they know upper management will give them what they want. Also our cars have been broken into in the parking lot, but they didnt care until it happened to a customer. And we still dont have cameras for our parking lot. No camera and were a bank! 3) They lower your scores on your annual review so they dont have to give you a good annual bonus or a raise. Ask any branch employee. It is a common practice and openly talked about. You are not allowed to have a 5 in any category and you are not allowed to have all 4s either. There was no negative comments on my annual. And I still only got a 3.8 out of 5 on my review. Because if they scored me any higher they would have had to give me a larger bonus according to their compensation plan. I was told to be grateful for that score cause it was the highest they have ever given. Back office employees are allowed higher scores though. Branch employees are treated like garbage. 4)The pandemic proved they dont care about employees. Our hours were cut and we dont get any hazard pay. This company could afford to give away $20 million to member in December 2019 but they cant afford to make sure their employees are paid through a pandemic. 5) it is also super hard to get a straight answer on supplies during the pandemic. We went weeks trying to ration cleaning supplies and the company just said that they couldn't get anymore buy if we find some they'll pay us back. So we were supposed to go hunting for supplies because our company couldn't be bothered. And if we could find any we would be scolded for not cleaning enough. 6) no maternity leave. And you are forced to burn through all your sick and vacation days when you do have a baby. So when you come back to work, you better not need to take a sick day for you or the baby because you wont have any.

Pros

The pay is decent and there are some very skilled people working in the department.

Cons

The workloads are unrealistic at times particularly when someone is out of office for an extended period of time. Month end tends to be very busy and you will be expected to work additional hours most days if you are salaried. Management attitude shifted in the last few years. Performance expectations are very subjected and higher ratings are gated across the organization with the highest level being essentially out of reach for non leadership positions. Many talented people have recently left the department in a short period of time causing workloads to be redistributed rather than seeking new staff in a timely manner. A large number of key department processes sit with a single person with minimal at best documentation of their procedures. You may be expected to reverse engineer some of the annual or quarterly processes with minimal guidance after seeing the process one once or twice.
