Pros

The pay is good for in home BCBA positions. Flexibility in your work schedule is nice if you can get a full caseload and manage your schedule on your own.

Cons

Upper management positions do not come from a BCBA background - they understand that there is a lot of money in the field of ABA right now, and that's blatantly obvious in any and all interactions that you will have with upper management. They will tell you during the hiring process that they care about their employees' work-life balance, however if you are not reaching your billable hour requirement every week they are going to be on you about it. There is no consideration that a lot of times not reaching the billable hours is out of the BCBAs control, due to cancellations, not having enough clients or a full caseload, etc. If you don't have enough clients to get to your billable hour requirement they are going to ask you to make up that time by working direct sessions, picking up direct sessions if an RBT calls out, working on the weekends (e.g., "I know it's not technically in your contract to work on the weekend but we really need you to be hitting those billable hours"). If/when you say no to the above things upper management will remind you that you are salaried and they can bump you back down to hourly, thus using aversive techniques to get BCBAs to do what they want them to do. The training/onboarding process is almost nonexistent and very unorganized. There were no CEU opportunities or professional development opportunities offered or communicated. The QA team is great, however a lot of times upper management undermines everything they recommend. Your clinical opinion as a BCBA is not going to matter if your clinical opinion does not align with what is going to make the company the most money. There are way better BCBA roles and companies to work for that are out there - the money here is nice but it's not worth it for you to feel unsupported and to work for a company that doesn't value you as a BCBA or as a human being.

Pros

If you've never worked hybrid, or remote you'll think it's cushiony. Good snacks in the break room also & they do try to do "fun" team in office things... mostly women working here. Good title to beef up your resume.

Cons

It's VERY segregated. The owners keep things in the family and everyone hired outside of the family does all the hard work essentially. High title but also high stress with little guidance or strategy.
