Pros

The experience looks great on a resume and met some really smart and talented people but most are exhausted and burned out.

Cons

60 hour work weeks, very political environment, salary is good but not worth the commitment needed and expected. No accountability for bad leaders and moral can be low in most departments as many leaders are burnt out by the time they are VP. Bad diets and lifestyles are common as people stress eat to cope and no life balance to get exercise. GS does provide all sorts of onsite benefits like an onsite nurse, gym and food options, all with the intent of never needed to leave the office.
