Pros
The co-workers, technology, leadership and potential of the organization. I’m an Account Manager (inside sales) and would strongly recommend Goliath to prospective sales professionals if you have ambition, are willing to work hard, and are interested in software & technology. I’m not going to spend time on the technology here other than saying it solves serious pain points for IT professionals which enables sales to focus on helping solve issues vs doing transactional selling, feature selling or up-selling. What I do want those looking at this post and considering working for Goliath to know is that I have learned more on strategic selling & C-level strategy in my 6+ months of working at Goliath than in undergrad, my career, and graduate school combined prior to coming to Goliath. You will undoubtedly gain skills that will make you successful, whether that is long-term with Goliath or somewhere else. Our CEO is one of the primary reasons why I am so confident in the organization. He had the foresight to act on certain competitive advantages in the market place that our competitors still haven’t been able to replicate. He is a phenomenal mentor if you are willing to dedicate time and effort. I’ve seen on numerous occasions where he has helped people get jobs outside of the company and paid out a rep double commission on a six-figure deal when it was questionable and originally not ruled a “double-commission” scenario by the finance department.
Cons
There have been, and still are, areas of improvement in work-life balance but changes have been made recently that are in the right direction.
