An established company that has cornered the market but still uses “startup” as an excuse for its shortcomings. - Budtender Good Day Farm Employee Review

* Despite being good people, store managers are ham-stringed by a corporate office ran by under-qualified individuals who exist only to extract money from customers, at the cost of their own brand image. * The company continually removes pre-established discount’s, guiding their employees to claim they are “illegal”, which causes abrasion with patients who are familiar with our medical system and its actual rules. They also ask us to promote a “lowering of prices”, though the results are often the opposite, causing further abrasion between both customers, but also employees who must diffuse these situations with no real answer from corporate. * There is no sense of safety or security from anywhere in this company. I’ve heard corporate employees openly discriminate against both employees and customers on the basis of their politics, from both sides. I’ve also witnessed customer interactions that threatened the physical safety of both employees and others customers, but the corporate office has no policy for barring people from a location. We have had female employees stalked outside of work, and LGBTQ employees who have been referred to by slurs, and these customers are still allowed to shop in our store with no consequences. * The company is so focused on opening as many stores as fast as possible, that they are unable to pay attention to the needs of individual stores, opting instead to create policies that may make sense at specific locations, but certainly not at others. For example, we have 3 part time employees who are all struggling to make ends meet with the limited part time hours alloted at our store. However, instead of making any of them full time, both bettering the life of their employees and in turn boosting brand loyalty, they have opted to further cut their current part timers hours and hire an additional 4 more. * As an extension of their desire to open as many stores as possible, the company has no way, nor desire to accept feedback about anything besides their products and their training documentation (which both are quite poor). In my time at the company I have seen 1 corporate employee that actually spent time talking to employees and didn’t just talk to the store manager and leave quietly out the back door.
