Pros

Monetary compensation was excellent, could be even considered excessive. Health and Benefits are pretty good. Most people will feel like an extended family.

Cons

Financial compensation is excessive due to turn over especially at plant locations. Not much traction on projects unless they are deemed to succeed or the brain child of an executive. Excessive levels of management, as projects will have about 2 direct and 3 indirect reporting lines who will try to change priorities that conflict one another. Constant pressure to revise numbers and calculations to show a picture of what is wanted instead of what is actually the truth. Office politics are well hidden but will eat you alive. 50% of the work force has essentially checked out mentally as there is not much innovation left or they do not see a future growth opportunity.

Pros

A lot of good people who do genuinely care. Good pay and benefits.

Cons

Sadly Goodyear is a declining company. The new C-suite talked a big game but company performance speaks otherwise. Market share/volume is declining quarter over quarter and the stock price is being killed. Many long tenured and loyal Goodyear employees have been laid off due to job outsourcing or plan closures. Before taking a job at Goodyear make sure to do your own research on the future of the company. Sadly for such a long and storied brand the future does seem bleak. Death by a thousand cuts….
