Pros
Strong top leadership -- well thought out long term company vision and consistent build on execution by top leaders. Great pay scale, good benefits, on-site work out center, healthy cafeteria options and free parking garage. Wide range of opportunities for the highly motivated -- career opportunities limited only by individual willingness to work and respond positively to feedback. Overall on-boarding, training and other employee programs have vastly improved in the last decade and there are many changes currently underway as well.
Cons
Long and unpredictable hours in some departments -- work life balance not always well supported, very common to work during vacation or holidays - this varies among departments. Flexible scheduling and telecommuting are minimal and dependent on individual managers, overall very narrow model of what motivates employees. Still mostly command and control style of management that discourages full engagement.
