Pros

Small team (in the reagion covered by me), very strong professionally in all areas (sales, marketing, finance and CS), allow fast decision and quick action; ofers a lot of non-cash benefit for employee and management team (gimm, incentive trips, health services, good car).

Cons

No training, just learning by doing (wich fit me well but may not be suitable to all). To much centralisation of decision power at regional level, in the last 2 years, wich was also the reason for my change in career, followed by restructuring of core position and globalisation without a plan for globalisation that give to an employee a chance to choose. To be more specific, they have a postion to offer for you regionally like "Pricing Lead" in Czech or Slovenia, but you can only choose yes or no for this position without the posibility to know in advance if other position are available wich may interest you in that area or other area, what package they offer with the position, what is the future plan after holding this position for a number of years etc.

Pros

A lot of good people who do genuinely care. Good pay and benefits.

Cons

Sadly Goodyear is a declining company. The new C-suite talked a big game but company performance speaks otherwise. Market share/volume is declining quarter over quarter and the stock price is being killed. Many long tenured and loyal Goodyear employees have been laid off due to job outsourcing or plan closures. Before taking a job at Goodyear make sure to do your own research on the future of the company. Sadly for such a long and storied brand the future does seem bleak. Death by a thousand cuts….
