Pros

Base pay is decent/ok. HQ has a lot of amenities. pretty easy to not accomplish things and "fly under the radar"

Cons

no strategy in innovation; leadership is detached and aloof (this is known and has been for years on the annual employee survey, but they aren't doing anything to change). as an employee, don't break down walls - too many directors and above are protected by walls that also prohibit innovation and driving positive change. matrix organization is disastrous for supporting innovation, but harbors an overall lack of achieving goals (instead, just move the goal posts) most employees are not bonus eligible. annual pay increases are weak (saying it nicely). no LTIP unless you're at a certain level. for most of the employees, increases in pay only comes via promotion, which are hard to come by.

Pros

A lot of good people who do genuinely care. Good pay and benefits.

Cons

Sadly Goodyear is a declining company. The new C-suite talked a big game but company performance speaks otherwise. Market share/volume is declining quarter over quarter and the stock price is being killed. Many long tenured and loyal Goodyear employees have been laid off due to job outsourcing or plan closures. Before taking a job at Goodyear make sure to do your own research on the future of the company. Sadly for such a long and storied brand the future does seem bleak. Death by a thousand cuts….
