Pros

- stable company - never forced to work extra hours - BENEFITS - hire from within ( not as big a pro as you would think, see below) - NSSM! (trade show for all sales employees, free trip to Florida) - PTO - brand recognition

Cons

***Keep in mind this is a review for the TSA role only (not TSR or any other sales positions) - as a newer division of the sales department this division is fundamentally flawed. The turnover is outrageous and someone is fired or quits weekly (literally, weekly) - You won't get fired for under performing because the goals are so unrealistic that they don't really expect anyone to hit goal...PS: if you are under goal you are making about 30K a year before taxes - I was consistently over goal and only made around 40K - 95% of the TSA department was at or below my level and those that were making a decent amount of money, by which I mean 60K+ were basically benefactors of good luck - they over promise on income potential...only 4-5 TSAs made about 50K and only 1-2 made above 60K (see above about good luck) - Even though we are technically equals of the other territory sales depts, we are viewed as lowest men (or women) on the totem pole - indoors...all day...sometimes you won't breathe fresh air or feel sunlight on your skin ( I admit this is true of many companies but still) - THE BIGGEST TRAVESTY OF ALL: The next step after a TSA is a TSR...yet they hire TSRs straight out of college...as a TSA you basically work as an intern. Do not be fooled into accepting this position unless you want a sales position where you never see cutomers - Speaking of customers: FEW of your customers respect you...keep in mind, you are working purely from the phones...all of your competitors are seeing them in person...ALSO, all of your customer are much cheaper (Grainger is the most expensive player out there) What does this mean for you? Well Grainger has the greatest breadth of supplies and the greatest availability. Great right? Nope, not as a TSA. You are an emergency supplier. They get everything cheaper elsewhere...you are there only for an emergency when no one else has it Grainger is not built for the small/medium size segment that the TSA role is supposed to capture - Zorro Tools: this is a web based supplier that Grainger owns that cannibalizes the sales of its salespeople . Zorro sells the exact same products from the exact same warehouses as grainger at up to 50% the price - they charge you for coffee. c'mon man.

Pros

Great company to move up/around in. They have a ton of support although some of that support better than others. Definitely recommend joining the Grainger Team. Great for new and tenured sales people.

Cons

As you move up in the company it is political on if you get the role.

Pros

Benefits are decent and reasonably priced. They offer a 401k match, BCBS insurance, FSA, HSA, dental, vision, life insurance, and accidental D&D coverage. They also do a 3‑to‑1 match for donations to non‑religious 501(c) organizations. There’s a big emphasis on volunteering, with plenty of opportunities to get involved. The building itself is beautiful, with a free on‑site gym, a coffee shop, real trees in the atrium, a waterfall, and a large cafeteria (though the food can vary). They’re also flexible about which days you come on‑site, depending on the team’s schedule. If I needed to switch a Monday for a Thursday, it was never an issue. My manager was also supportive of remote work on days when the weather made commuting difficult.

Cons

Admins do not get an annual bonus. They're really strict on Overtime, really weird about worrying about mini costs. Like they'll spend 50k on a week-long training but freak out if people want to rent a car while being in town. Can't buy lunch for this 3 hour meeting to cut costs, but we'll drop 10k on this other thing. It's also so unfair that some people get to work remotely and others are forced to come in 3 times a week, for the exact same roles. Every meeting is basically online, so it's just silly and a power trip.
