Pros

Most of the Grange employees were good to work with. And Grange was good in many ways with benefits, flexible with employee circumstances (giving time off when tough times came up), allowing remote work, etc. In IT (Grange Technology Services, “GTS”), most people seemed pretty competent and friendly.

Cons

Grange felt pretty directionless the last year or so leading up to their recent massive layoffs. No new projects, lots put on hold. Stingy about training (even before the last year or so). And Grange really bumbled even the communication of the layoffs leading to many tenured GTS employees learning they were laid off when they were logged out of their Grange VDIs. Also Grange seemed willing to discriminate against its employees with certain policies (if requested by “authorities”) and took loud political stances that rubbed many employees the wrong way. And with the layoffs the future seems very unclear— many Grange roles were eliminated and many others were changed from Grange to a managed service provider.

Business causal environment when we have to go into the office

Cons

Constantly adding high paying directors and made up positions but you keep shrinking the people that are responsible for bringing in the business that actually make money. More and more are promoted to these glorified secretarial roles that are not needed but keep reducing the amount of underwriters. You could hire several underwriters for one of those high salary positions.
