Pros

There are some great people who work here, and there is some job stability for most roles. Decent work life balance if you want it. 401k match.

Cons

Raises and promotions are so out of whack there are supervisors getting paid less than people they are managing. Granite is more than happy to let good talent walk so they don’t have to give them half the money they will need to give a new hire at the current market rate. My entire department didn’t get a promotion or non COLA raises since I have been here. Then Granite has their weekly meeting showing their “promotions” even though they aren’t technically allowed according to management. Another excuse we got yearly is they are “working on changing titles and the organizational structure so it makes more sense for next year”. HR also doesn’t approve flexibility for people with family issues (not for everyone) leaving them to break the rules so they can pick up their kids with the 4 days rto. The company gives millions to charity every year (which is nothing to the 4th wealthiest person in Massachusetts history net worth increased by $400 mill again!) and says I can’t help you when it comes to paying anyone but sales.

Pros

No pros what so ever.

Cons

This company and specifically the collections department have very little opportunity for growth, despite what may be promised during the hiring process. Honestly, it’s a circus. Non stop tasks are thrown at employees each day. And Goals are constantly increased so analyst can’t reach them. Employees who work hard and consistently perform well often find themselves stuck in the same position with no clear path for advancement. Promotions and opportunities never appear to be based on performance or merit. Management is one of the biggest issues. They have no clue. Favoritism is prevalent, and certain employees seem to receive special treatment, better opportunities, and more support than others. This creates a frustrating and discouraging work environment where many employees feel undervalued and overlooked. Morale suffers when performance and dedication are overlooked in favor of personal relationships and when there is little accountability for management and no transparency regarding career development. Communication from leadership is lacking, and employee concerns are not addressed. Management gets defensive when employees ask questions or disagree with their stupid decisions. Overall, it can be a VERY challenging place to build a longterm career if you are looking for fair treatment, professional growth, and strong leadership. Turnover rate is very high. Also, micro management is at an all time high. Would not even recommend this place to a college grad for entry level experience, if i could Put 0 stars, i would. For the sake of your mental health, stay far away.
