Pros

On-site gym: Saving $10/month from my local gym Friends: We could commiserate the Granite experience together

Cons

Hiring Process: 3 months temp work, then if they like you, the chance to take a drug test for a permanent position. It is ideal to seek employment elsewhere during this process. In addition, you do not have any benefits during this time. Low Pay: The pay for customer facing job is on the lowest end and a tad better than working at customer oriented stores. No yearly raises: The only way to gain more $ is via promotions (which doesn’t come often) and certifications (job pending) Selfish Environment: The leadership only cares about their own team and hitting goals to get bonuses. For the new comers, the experience will depend on your upper management and team. Sales Centric Org: Sales are the bloodline of Granite and all the CEO cares about. If you serve the customer, then good luck. If you serve the corp, then they own all your hours. If you are Sales, you are the one.

Pros

No pros what so ever.

Cons

This company and specifically the collections department have very little opportunity for growth, despite what may be promised during the hiring process. Honestly, it’s a circus. Non stop tasks are thrown at employees each day. And Goals are constantly increased so analyst can’t reach them. Employees who work hard and consistently perform well often find themselves stuck in the same position with no clear path for advancement. Promotions and opportunities never appear to be based on performance or merit. Management is one of the biggest issues. They have no clue. Favoritism is prevalent, and certain employees seem to receive special treatment, better opportunities, and more support than others. This creates a frustrating and discouraging work environment where many employees feel undervalued and overlooked. Morale suffers when performance and dedication are overlooked in favor of personal relationships and when there is little accountability for management and no transparency regarding career development. Communication from leadership is lacking, and employee concerns are not addressed. Management gets defensive when employees ask questions or disagree with their stupid decisions. Overall, it can be a VERY challenging place to build a longterm career if you are looking for fair treatment, professional growth, and strong leadership. Turnover rate is very high. Also, micro management is at an all time high. Would not even recommend this place to a college grad for entry level experience, if i could Put 0 stars, i would. For the sake of your mental health, stay far away.
