Pros
Coworkers are great, everyone there is there to help. The training is pretty good, you learn vital programs like SQL and some powerpivot material. Its a good first professional experience. Adjusting from college to the full time work life can be tough but working at Granite can be less stressful transition.
Cons
The company culture is very much outdated. You are requried to come into work from 8-5 (flexible schedules just recently changed and its only for people who have been there for 3 years). Work from home just became available but only twice a month. The required attire just shifted from shirt and tie to business casual. The company is sales focuses, so being in finance can feel like less important to organization. The pay is pretty low compared to the industry standard. Granite has a pretty high turnover rate, so it takes a decent amount of time to have a salary to be proud of. The benefits are pretty bad. Only 7 recognized holidays the whole year, sick days are included in your PTO, and have to come in on snow days.
