Pros

I joined Granite 2 years ago in sales and have been very successful. They've provided me a well supported invironment to work in. Solid training programs such as Negotiation, Dale Carnege, and dedicated in-house training along with outside resources. Granite is does a billion dollars annually in revenue and the President/CEO sits in a cube along with the salespeople. The company frequently pays bonus to the employees based on hitting revenue goals. Other perks include afterwork company sponsored activities like Golfing, Softball and Bowling. Great Gym and fitness instruction, bootcamp, cross training all for free. If your willing to work hard and have the desire for success you can have fun and make life changing money.

Cons

In a age when some companies offer nap areas and flex hours Granite is bit of a throwback. Coasting is not an option, hard work is demanded. No domestic partner coverage on health insurance.

This company and specifically the collections department have very little opportunity for growth, despite what may be promised during the hiring process. Honestly, it’s a circus. Non stop tasks are thrown at employees each day. And Goals are constantly increased so analyst can’t reach them. Employees who work hard and consistently perform well often find themselves stuck in the same position with no clear path for advancement. Promotions and opportunities never appear to be based on performance or merit. Management is one of the biggest issues. They have no clue. Favoritism is prevalent, and certain employees seem to receive special treatment, better opportunities, and more support than others. This creates a frustrating and discouraging work environment where many employees feel undervalued and overlooked. Morale suffers when performance and dedication are overlooked in favor of personal relationships and when there is little accountability for management and no transparency regarding career development. Communication from leadership is lacking, and employee concerns are not addressed. Management gets defensive when employees ask questions or disagree with their stupid decisions. Overall, it can be a VERY challenging place to build a longterm career if you are looking for fair treatment, professional growth, and strong leadership. Turnover rate is very high. Also, micro management is at an all time high. Would not even recommend this place to a college grad for entry level experience, if i could Put 0 stars, i would. For the sake of your mental health, stay far away.
