Pros

Granite follows a very common blueprint of hiring fresh college grads as temps and giving them 3 months to prove themselves. All told, you really have to earn NOT being hired permanent. It's very simple to get hired: Do your job. Show up on time. Pass the drug test and background check. In my department, it's pretty lax. There is a dress code for the male employees, but women can dress casual without any complaints. We are treated well and work is mostly steady. Nobody questions if you leave your desk and nobody harps on you if you do your job. I was promoted after going perm less than 7 months prior without doing much so I'm not sure what some other complaints about impossible promotions were about. This company is designed to move forward without a stable core of workers. They're pretty much geared towards acting as a starting point for fresh college grads while still looking for that diamond in the rough to keep around for the foreseeable future. The gist of it is we'll keep you around a few years and if you really impress us you'll have a strong future here. Otherwise we part ways when you are ready to move on. This formula does produce a lot of turnover but isn't really hurting anyone. They have new hire classes pretty frequently. Benefits are decent but nothing spectacular. The COO learns everyone's name and remembers which is impressive. The CEO is a nice guy too.

Cons

Wages are below the industry average. Temps aren't treated as well. Minimal room for growth if you aren't in the inner circle. The higher paid do much less work. The average employee has to work extra hard to reach monetary goals that only benefit the higher ups. They don't expect you to stay beyond 2 years and it shows.

Pros

No pros what so ever.

Cons

This company and specifically the collections department have very little opportunity for growth, despite what may be promised during the hiring process. Honestly, it’s a circus. Non stop tasks are thrown at employees each day. And Goals are constantly increased so analyst can’t reach them. Employees who work hard and consistently perform well often find themselves stuck in the same position with no clear path for advancement. Promotions and opportunities never appear to be based on performance or merit. Management is one of the biggest issues. They have no clue. Favoritism is prevalent, and certain employees seem to receive special treatment, better opportunities, and more support than others. This creates a frustrating and discouraging work environment where many employees feel undervalued and overlooked. Morale suffers when performance and dedication are overlooked in favor of personal relationships and when there is little accountability for management and no transparency regarding career development. Communication from leadership is lacking, and employee concerns are not addressed. Management gets defensive when employees ask questions or disagree with their stupid decisions. Overall, it can be a VERY challenging place to build a longterm career if you are looking for fair treatment, professional growth, and strong leadership. Turnover rate is very high. Also, micro management is at an all time high. Would not even recommend this place to a college grad for entry level experience, if i could Put 0 stars, i would. For the sake of your mental health, stay far away.
