The Org's leaders hold themselves to a low bar of leadership, and that culture trickles all the way down. My own leadership team seemed so overwhelmed that they simply could not keep track of all the threats and ultimatums they had made. The organization makes attempts at compliance with legal requirements and ethical norms but is happy to ignore those when convenient.
Granite will fully expect staff to lie on their behalf. To customers, to direct reports, to other workgroups, etc. It's political and tribal. That's a good place for some people.
