Pros

* Co-workers - Management works tirelessly to put the right people in the right roles so that we can all move forward together and accomplish great things. The people who make up the company are the foundation of our culture. There is not one person that I do not trust to do their best and make great decisions. * Philosophy/Culture - Management puts people first and has shown this time and time again. This is my first career out of grad-school, however, I could not imagine working for a better place that cares more about it's people than Grant Street. * Transparency - Between monthly check-ins on revenue/projections and musings from our CEO regarding decisions and why they were made, Grant Street is very transparent. This gives people the information they need to succeed and help move the company forward. * Work/Life Balance - I stick to a 40 hour work week except for very rare exceptions, which I will comp some other week. * Working Remotely - There is nothing better than a 1 minute commute from my recliner to my desk, but I also wanted to convey that Grant Street is setup well for remote work. Between video conferencing and chat, I hardly feel like I'm working alone and rarely go a day where I do not collaborate with someone on my team.

Cons

* Challenging - This is both a good and a bad thing. There is rarely a dull moment at Grant Street, which make time fly and gives you something to be proud of on more days than not. However, because of all the great people in this organization, it can be easy to fall victim to the Imposter Syndrome causing stress and anxiety from time to time. People are very supportive though, so if you are open with others, they will be there to help you in anyway they can. * Direction - Grant Street spends a lot of time helping people understand our top priorities and general philosophy. This then allows each employee to make decisions on a daily basis to push us in the direction of those high level goals. This means you get very little direction in tactics and must take ownership in the work you do. Personally, I think this is a good thing, but I wanted to mention it under cons because some people struggle without a playbook.

Pros

My coworkers were great to work with

Cons

- Management here is extremely poor, even compared to companies where I had lower workplace satisfaction - Too much pivoting due to poor resource planning + management due to a poorly crafted longitudinal vision - Disingenuous execution of cultural outlook - Feedback is inconsistent and not supported by clear metrics/expectations

Grant Street Group Response

Response from our President: Thanks for complimenting your co-workers. It is a welcome tribute to our culture. For the past 20 years, Grant Street has sustained an organic, compound annual growth rate exceeding 20%. Surely such an extraordinary track record requires competent management. And, to your point, it requires lots of pivoting to sustain it, which has been and will continue to be possible only by developing what you describe as our newer, “extraordinary frontline staff”.
