It's a typical mushroom management company. Buddies, lies, politics and manipulation. CEO says things like "we are in this for the long run" while him and his buddies are cashing out and buying ferraris (about which they are then boasting during the town hall meetings). But all of that would be okay because the worst is that the senior management doesn't understand what they are doing. They have no future vision and no understanding of ML market. This market is something completely new for them as they come from silicon world and they just decided to jump the AI train because it sounded lucrative at the time. While several team leads and experienced engineers are really good at things (at least they were - several leads got fed up and quit or are quitting en masse), the director-level and above totally lacks any kind of sense of direction. There is little career progress. Once an engineer, always an engineer. Pay is mediocre. There's around 700 people in the company, but teams seem to be in their own bubbles and don't interact with each other. You often have no idea what others are doing. No diversity among the management team. I never had any run-ins with them, but there were some company-wide dramas where even the CEO had some Slack messages deleted or e-mail access to company-wide e-mail lists was restricted after some people spoke out. Bad business outlook. I think they are looking to be acquired, but you never know with that kind of management. Reorg chaos and uncertainty. Bad sales and constant strategy changes that seem like a smoke screen or a pretext to work on something.
