      Pros

      Only good thing is sometimes getting to meet nice people and making them happy. But little opportunity to do that around here. Can make decent tips that make your measly base wage somewhat more livable. You get alot of experience fast since we do 20 cuts a day average in a row. Wouldn't recommend it to an apprentice however since you will learn cheap shortcuts and bad habits and lose your ability to do styles, long haircuts and colour or perm. I like my co workers and managers decently, but they have to push the Great Clips way by any means necessary even if it's demoralizing and infantilizing.

      Cons

      It's assembly line cutting. Quantity over quality. If you can't meet that expectation you're lectured constantly and treated like a burden that needs to be fixed rather than an asset to already limited staff. As someone who's been in the industry 6 years I don't want little meetings every week to work on my quantity output. Only care about numbers. It's no wonder we're always understaffed. You start to loathe people, hate hair and your job. You lose your skills and confidence in your craft. Your body aches constantly. Don't know how anyone could raise kids while working here or have a life outside work. No energy to do anything other than drag myself through the work week.

      Pros

      Great co-workers, good tips, generally busy, clientele overall friendly, management is super cool and will try to be as flexible as possible with your schedule.

      Cons

      Working evenings and weekends, but that is salon life.

      Flexible schedules, 401k, health, & dental benefits, bonuses (based on salon performance, base wage with poetional to hit commission on service & product sales, fun friendly & welcoming environment for employees/customers, continuing education for growth in the industry, professional career growth with Great Clips (depending upon your franchise)

      Cons

      Haircutting exclusive so if you enjoy other services in the industry (chemicals, waxing, updo styling) this is not the place Franchised salons, so salons are ran differently.
