Pros

My favorite part about my job was when it ended. It was, by far, the worst company I've ever been employed with.

Cons

Where should I begin? I've never worked with such a backstabbing group of people in my entire life. Our office was a small one, and it was as if upper level management would choose to rip apart the person who was not working that day. Every employee that was at the site before me was talked about so negatively and within my first couple of weeks I knew this wasn't a good fit. We are micromanaged (to say the very least) and everything is about the money. The property I worked for was struggling in a competitive market and the owners wanted to see occupancy but retain far above market prices, making it almost impossible to do the task that is asked of you. A favorite pastime, or all-the-time favorite of management is house hunting, printing off furniture or decorative pieces, celebrity news, and of course, Facebook. Entry level employees are required to complete all manager reporting and research projects assigned to the manager. I would complete the projects and email them to my direct manager and she would delete my name and place hers on it instead. The systems they use to track move-ins and resident information is non-existent and the software they have isn't fully utilized, making a simple task a huge lengthy one. I felt that o was personally attacked on my days off, just as everyone else was when I wasn't working. They tell you you're "more than a number" but when something happens out of life's control, don't expect them to react in any way. They'll remind you of how much they need you there instead of showing concern for a major life changing event. All in all, I'm thankful for the experience as I no know what not to accept from an employer. Childish, caddy, and unprofessional - welcome to Great Lakes.
