Pros
Amazing colleagues - hard working, driven, smart
Cons
This used to be an amazing place to work. I looked forward to the work we did on a daily basis for years. Recent “unification” has left the team in shambles however. Management has made it clear that all employees are fully replaceable. Success coaches aren’t even seen as humans. You have a 100-110 day quota you have to meet and that doesn’t count your travel time. Some of us are literally on the road 5 days a week. And if you decline an event you get your hand slapped. Nobody here cares about you. When they told us that all of our jobs were ending last year and we would all have to apply for new jobs, it became abundantly clear that we are all just numbers to them. There was no regard for the amount of service we have provided this company over the years or the expertise we bring to the table. Some of the best and brightest were simply let go or demoted. This is now being touted as acceptable collateral damage. I don’t know a single person who is happy right now. Everyone you talk to is actively looking for new work. It’s almost like they’re enjoying the mass exodus that’s just beginning because it’s weeding out the non believers in their new world order. And they’re not done. They’re going to keep doing this to other departments without regard for experience, knowledge, or expertise. They’re looking for people fresh out of the classroom who will smile, nod their heads, and do whatever they’re told, without question. And the product will suffer as a result. We used to have really high expectations around our professional development offerings. You had to know the content inside and out. Now everyone is being forced to deliver PD outside of their content areas, without any knowledge of the product and are literally being told by leadership “fake it til you make it.” All they care about is making money. Period. Not their employees, not teachers, not students. They have done away with almost all management positions, leaving current management overworked and unable to support you, while also squelching almost all opportunity for advancement. The decision making has been so questionable that some are legitimately worried that they’re preparing us to be sold off or start outsourcing our jobs to other companies. Either way this has become a terrible, toxic work environment and I do NOT recommend taking a job here anymore.
