Pros
some of the smartest and most dedicated people in K12 education who can share your pain and help you get your next job.
Cons
No need to tell again the story of how unbelievably badly the hard working, dedicated staff were treated. Thrown out the door. Just awful. But what kills many of us is that senior management -- starting with the CEO and CFO -- sucked out millions of dollars of compensation while they were driving the company into the ground. LIterally millions over the years for just the CEO. And then she spent a fortune building a massive new office (for a remote office!) so she would never have to walk more than a few blocks from her home in Virginia. And, as others have pointed out, her kids loved dinosaurs so she spent another fortune putting a dinosaur in the lobby! Seriously, wait till the news investigations on these folks come out. And one last thing -- the Board members who have been at GM for years pocked hundreds of thousands of dollars in compensation. Please tell me of another non profit education company where Board members pay themselves this sort of income. One very, very longtime Board member has been managing to suck out a huge income for years at the same time she previously served as Chair and oversaw (wait for it...) the CEO's insanely high compensation. As we say, just wait till the investigative reporters get hold of these stories. A disgrace.
