Pros
I worked at GRHS'S Nursing Home. For appearances it has a much more home like appeal than other places. I loved working with the residents and seeing when they felt cared for and appreciated.
Cons
The care center's administration is not what I'd call empoyee friendly. The staff consists of the "lifers" and the "in-and-outs". The lifers seem to get away with behaviors, such as saying very negative and even mean things about the residents in the facility's public spaces or being rude and disrespecting to their coworkers. Staffing information and training is a complete mess. Things you should be informed of from day one are not given until there is an issue and even then they will put the onus on the employer, including lying about their part in a given negative situation. Administration will then act in an unprofessional manner that could be construed as retaliatory when it is brought to their attention, especially if you go over them to HR. Basically, you are expected to be a puppet on their strings, willing to rat out fellow employees, and voicing no opinions of your own to management. Oh and they'll try to get away with having phone meetings on your non-work time and scheduling you last minute to fill the massive number of holes they have in staffing.
