Pros

Opportunity to witness the highest density of lessons learned per unit of time for this industry and most other industries. Technically weak management is easily convinced to spend with abandon, given the right PPT slide deck. Opportunity to cash in and leave at annual bonus time... if it is fulfilled.

Cons

While the company continues to lose its competitive edge across markets, it remains unquestionably... or maybe understandably paranoid regarding its perceived IP of value. For 3 years running now have seen a repeat of a very disturbing practice. As they back out of failed FV and now harvest investments, and continue to manage by cost cutting, they have the most odd scheme for excessing staff. They ask them to come for an impromptu meeting, then whisk them out the door sans all personal property. While I've personally tried to clandestinely reconnect people with their personal effects, unless they can name them via e-mail, and in a very short time, any and all items they have had at work with them, are... no other words, stolen, or disposed of. This really is improper, and it underscores the risks of working for a private, and not well managed aging concern. That said, come in, learn what you can, and be careful of what you leave at work, especially near end of fiscal year. Cubicles of a size not seen outside Bangalore.
