Pros

Apparel program Great medical benefits Employee Appreciation Events Supporter of St. Jude’s

Cons

My original company merged with this company. This company always hiring for a reason and known in the industry as “everybody leaves Greystar.” Greystar has lost many communities. 1. The company manages many luxury communities but once they take over, the appearance and the culture of the community begins to go downhill. 2. They do not pay you to live (proper pay depends on the city you live in). They want to pay below average, so low enough, the employee discount doesn’t even put a dent in the rental rate for one to event afford to live onsite. 3. No room for advancement unless you’re a part of the clique or friends circle with upper management. One is promoted based on friendship rather actual years of experience in the industry and passion for the job. Th company promotes to upper management rather young if one is in their early 20’s. If one is looking to move from leasing into management in their 30s and 40s, it can be a challenge. It’s not that it can’t be done but definitely a challenge unless you’re great friends with someone in corporate. 4. Overload of “live” webinar training especially if you’re on a high traffic community. Oftentimes you have to start and stop training because a resident or prospect is at your office door. 5. Worked in multiple communities, always short staffed 6. Takes forever to gain login passwords to systems when you start. 7. Stressful for no reason at all. Lots of reporting and paperwork when the industry has moved to digital. No reason to work harder than smarter. Tasks are expected to be completed in complicated ways when there are more opportunities for efficiency.

Pros

They pay you well and give good benefits.

Cons

They will work you to the bone, abuse you emotionally, manipulate you, talk down on you, and throw you out the moment you aren’t taking any of it. They work you your normal hours and then 30-50 overtime hours in that same two weeks. They don’t care for their employees well being, only the results they get the client. Even if it’s at the expense of your health, safety, or mental status. Management is like a giant frat and sorority opened a business. You can’t ask for help they’ll retaliate, you can’t ask for relief or they’ll retaliate, you can’t have issues otherwise they’ll retaliate. Do not work here even for the money or benefits, they will work you to death and then prop your corpse up to work more. If you value your personal time, mental health, and over all well being. God forbid you want to leave your building and management doesn’t want you to, ask for a transfer and they will rain down write ups on you. You are owned by the client if you work for this company. Modern day indentured servitude. DO NOT WORK FOR THEM.
