Pros

Greystar as a large company was great. The once a year awards ceremony made everything come together and you were able to see the hard work everyone puts in come to appreciation and light. Keyword: Once A Year. The training throughout my position was really great and knowledgeable. You had to travel pretty far to get actual class training if you were outside of a main city. To find the time to actually do that? Good luck. The people are great. Management really cares and the team bond will be the only thing that keeps you afloat.

Cons

No matter how great Greystar is... the OWNERS of the property is what dictates everything. They tell Greystar what to do, how to budget, and how much staff is allotted. The ownership we had was never on property and didn't see how much we were actually drowning. They saw the positive numbers but didn't think about how hard we worked and the effort we put in to do it. This showed them that we did not need any more staff. My manager was salary and was putting in more hours than they knew. She would work late into the night and come in early just to show ownership that we were doing great. This was good and bad. Bad because they didn't see her overtime therefore didn't think we needed the extra help. It was a never ending cycle of trying to stay above water. We had about 200 units, 1 PT leaser, 1 Asst Manager, 1 Manager, and 2 maintenance. The property was high demanding and the residents were mainly under educated which required more work on our part. Not only did we have to make our numbers but we had to educate our residents on small things such as application process, leases, renewals, and even translate for them. NIGHTMARE.

Pros

-Great networking opportunities. -Good IT support. -Great benifits. -Great employee housing discount and housing opportunities. -Commissions will make your paycheck worth it.

Cons

-Management is broad and impersonal. You may feel like a number. -Your workload can be a lot at times. if you work well under pressure, you'd succeed here. -The leasing season is not year round meaning you will have slow months and you will have good ones. Save in the good months to get through the slow ones. -High turnover. Resilience will get you far. -It's rare that you get your weekends at a company like this.
