Pros

The operational teams were amazing! Core Values and Pillars are AWESOME! CEO is an incredible human being. The property management leadership team in Washington and Oregon were absolutely amazing. There is genuine care, compassion and competency there. Really HATED leaving them! Absolutely loved that group. For the Employee Relations team specifically they are an incredible group of professionals. Everyone was more than willing to pitch in to help and share their expertise and experience. Definitely given the opportunity to learn new things and to sharpen skills on others.

Cons

The volume of work with the limited resources was unrealistic. The ratios were incredibly disproportionate (example more than 1000 to 2000 employees to 1 director. The work was more of an HRBP to generalist. Not all the directors had support team members. The complexity of the work and the volume of engagement demands were not equally considered. The amount of stress was unbearable and when added to a personal life that was crumbly apart, there just wasn't the support needed to be successful.

Pros

Pay with housing discounts tend to be better than competition

Cons

Severe negatives if you plan on taking any type of leave of absence. While they are required to allow the leave, (my experience) has been that if retaliatory since it adds additional work load to those in your group (your boss). I’ve experienced this personally, and have seen it with other managers in my group. You will start to receive write ups that you never had before, micro managed, and/or fired after such things. I went from discussing promotions before my leave started to becoming ineligible for rehire after taking state protected LOA.
