Pretty much everything else is a down side. Not that its the worst place in the world, but near every part of your work flow will be inefficient and needlessly burdensome. No one has the tools to do their job well and the person who actually knew the process left to a better company. There really isn't growth or career development. The occasional time something does come up, your Catalonian coworkers from other sites will have preferential choice. There is lots of advertising about all the professional development, but when you read the fine print it is actually based in Barcelona or Los Angeles. The compensation is not competitive for the Bay Area. PTO policy is outdated and there are basically no company holidays so its less generous than it seems. Work/Life Balance is tough to achieve regardless, but at Grifols its more about what you want your career to be. If you have a high tolerance for pain, you can take your licks 9-5 and leave promptly. You will probably get yelled at but you certainly won't get fired. If you want to have an interesting job and be engaged, you will need to work very hard and then leave to a better company. There is a lot to be done and no management, so find some small way to help and move on. The middle and senior management really only want to be told yes. No one wants to be person who brings up lack of resources on unrealistic timelines, so they pass it on to the level beneath them. No one is really managing things, the schedules change sometimes daily without notice, and new projects start before critical ones close. I'm not kidding, there is a huge lack of leadership at this site. The corporate values are a total joke. Weak platitudes that are not followed. The company doesn't care what you have to say unless you are Catalonian. I get being proud, but it's over promising and under delivering. B quality people promising A quality work actually delivering a C.
