Pros
- Lunch everyday and cool office space (pretty much the same or similar for all ad tech companies) - Best marketing group in the business - I've never seen a team do so well at getting a company so much good press and so often. - When parties were thrown, they were always well attended and fun. - A few great coworkers that helped the day go by
Cons
- They put the "cult" in culture. Groundtruth is the best company ever and YOU, as the employee, should count your blessings that you work there. Drink the kool aid or there will be consequences - Zero work-life balance. We were told explicitly that we should spend all of our time working. - What the top level team says, goes. If you're not a yes-man, there is no place for you at Groundtruth. Do not question management decisions or provide any negative feedback or you will be fired. This brings me to my next con - There was always a feeling that one wrong move or comment would lead to dismissal. As a result, no one with any power ever questioned anything even when they should have. - They love name dropping. New people were hired seemingly only based on if their resume sounded impressive with little to no accounting for if they were good at their previous job or even if there was a job opening to fill. When an "impressive" new hire was hired, it became a talking point for a long time. - Transparency - ha, only when good things happened! I could keep going but the short version is that Groundtruth is your quintessential late-stage ad tech company: no longer a start up, full of people with a singular vision (or people without the courage to question the vision) that is no longer innovative. I left before the CEO was terminated for a "policy violation" but I can't imagine it's gotten any better.
