Pros

This is a fully remote employment opportunity

Cons

I find myself compelled to provide an unvarnished assessment of my time at Grow Your Center, an experience characterized by a series of disheartening revelations that underscore the glaring absence of effective leadership, industry acumen, and basic trustworthiness within the organization. At the nucleus of my grievances stands the distressing void in competent leadership, particularly at the CEO and COO levels. Their conspicuous lack of direction and inability to make informed decisions have propelled the company into a realm of uncertainty and irrelevance. The choices they have endorsed have consistently betrayed an inadequate grasp of industry dynamics, revealing a startling lack of foresight and leaving the company teetering on the precipice of mediocrity. The alarming erosion of trust in communication practices casts a long shadow over Grow Your Center. Vital information is routinely obfuscated, shared inconsistently, or entirely withheld, eroding any semblance of transparency and breeding an atmosphere of suspicion. Such an egregious communication deficit has led to chaos, misunderstanding, and a palpable disconnect between management and staff. The dismaying deficiency in industry knowledge and leadership expertise extends to the realm of compensation and benefits. The pitifully low remuneration offered to employees communicates a stark disregard for their contributions and perpetuates a cycle of mediocrity. Concurrently, the threadbare benefits package speaks volumes about the company’s indifference towards the well-being and job satisfaction of its workforce, fostering an environment of disillusionment and disengagement. In closing, my tenure at Grow Your Center has exposed a troubling dearth of effective leadership, industry comprehension, and ethical communication. The cumulative impact of these deficiencies has plunged the organization into an abyss of stagnation and distrust.

Pros

GYC is a great place to work and engage with management and co-workers. They are extremely organized, friendly, warm and welcoming. In a remote environment they make you feel as connected as if working together on site in an office. There clearly defined and laid out platforms for SOPs, live trainings and meetings are unmatched. Their accomplishments as a start up both in processes and people operations have been nothing short of amazing. A fun, collaborative and supportive company, you will enjoy working here immensely. Those who join do not want to leave and continue to grow in their work/life balance that is sincerely supported and fostered by this company and its people.

Cons

There are no cons to working here. However, it saddens me and the others that work here of the vindictive behaviors of former co-workers to whom we dedicated our support, who unfortunately had to be let go for reasons of no ill intent by our team, the company or management. The anger and backlash of our former coworkers and who we thought had become good friends, are alarming and disappointing, especially after all the support we gave them while working with the company,. And the company gave generous 30 days notice and salaries that were paid through the unfortunate transition of layoffs. Even for a few who may have faced terminations for poor work ethics and productivity, the team wished them well and management supported them through their transitions. Vindictive behaviors are hurtful when you know in your heart you genuinely did the best you could by those who seek vengeance. Our team and management will continue to forgive and wish everyone well. Because caring about our team and our clients' well beings is truly the culture here at GYC.

Pros

Some talented people on the team who genuinely want to make a difference. Flexible remote work. Exposure to various parts of the child care industry and marketing.

Cons

Lack of transparency from leadership — promises often change without notice. Culture of intimidation: Speaking up is quietly punished. Bogus contracts and intimidation letters. Things like working two jobs will get you a cease in the form of a screenshot from the net. Promotions and opportunities often tied to personal friendships, not merit. No structure or security — expectations change weekly. Low pay compared to responsibilities; high burnout rate. Little to no formal HR process or accountability when concerns are raised.
