Pros
-Willing to train people instead of expecting someone to come in with every single thing they want -Great work environment IF you have a good district manager, my boss the district manager was laid off and I was given the most micromanager ever as a replacement, would not recommend Gabi -In theory you have a lot of freedom to do whatever you want with the site, but in reality it is not always the case -Shorter hours in winter time -Get to drive Zamboni in winter time -Outside all day/moving around all day -Regular customers will get to know you and will sometimes bring you lunch -Great experience for beginners -Get to kayak/paddle board/ canoe -Get to make own schedule -Great health care option -Have locations all over America and could potentially relocate
Cons
-Will lie to you about the amount of hours you will actually be working -I was told multiple times in my interview and immediately after being hired that I would receive a 10% no matter what and when the time came, I did not receive one and no one would tell me why -Will work 60 hours a week during busy season and be expected to be on call 24/7. Even on your days off you will be required to answer your phone, even if the boathouse is closed and nothing is going on -Will be heavily guilted into working 24/7 by others working at the company and if you try to set boundaries they will make your job a little harder each day by being as annoying and pushy as possible -Theoretically get to make your own schedule but you better be able to have zero life outside of work/ have no weekends or holidays to yourself -Not a lot of opportunity for advancement unless you want to join corporate ladders
