Pros
Does very important work in the community. Staff are nice. free parking.
Cons
Disregard for employee mental health Employee burnout was very common. Entire departments would turn over regularly. Many heads of departments worked over 60 hours a week. There were 4 different Directors of HR in the three years I was there. Overworking was a heavy part of the culture, making mental wellness for staff very difficult. Pretending to care about DEI A huge goal of the marketing team was to advertise how important DEI was to the company. However, many employees of color felt the culture was racist and oppressive. Guild was actively telling the world how anti racist they were, and attracting hopeful diverse candidates, while employees of color were suffering. Executives didn’t care about this and wanted Marketing to keep doing what we were doing in order to attract more staff they could underpay and underappreciate. I never saw any improvement in DEI in the time I was there.
