Pros

Seemed to be trying to put their "best face forward." Kind, friendly admin staff.

Cons

GTCC takes you through a very intense interviewing process. If you are unemployed and not confident that this is where you want to work, I do not recommend wasting your time with this institution. I was called in for two separate positions and went to campus 5 different times for interview-related appointments. Pretty sure that I had the experience and the know-how to have been a great addition to the teams; however, I think one thing kept me from getting hired. This is a rural area and unfortunately, the ideals or standards clearly reflect old-school practices while trying to appear as forward-thinking. They mentioned in 2 of the interviews that they serve the 'underserved,' so I would take this into consideration before applying as this points to the trend of colleges in the US that are after Federal funding, leaving many students, graduates, and government in financial predicaments in the future. This affects us all.

Pros

Working with other instructors and helping students to achieve their goals.

Cons

Upper level administration is very oppressive and will find ways to terminate anyone who dissents or questions the decisions they make. Even when presented with clear evidence that their decisions will have a negative impact on students. They have an attitude that you either go with what they want or leave and have actually stated it. There is a very top heavy administration while certain areas lack enough full time instructors to run programs.
