Pros
I met some really fantastic people and musicians, both employees and customers, in my time there. The experience was generally good in a people sense. Working with music gear, if it's a passion of yours, made this a pretty great place to work.
Cons
Like all places, there were some negative vibes. You're working with artists (mostly) that don't always see the business side of the world in glowing terms, so realism wasn't always present for everyone. Over the years, the commission structure had been adjusted in a way that didn't reward your best employees and salespeople as well as it should have. Making a living as an associate only was basically not possible. Also, the corporate level was/is very out of sync with the store level on how to treat employees. In store management seemed to get that, but there were many complaints that upper levels did not treat people below very well. There's more than one way to look at it, but it certainly seemed to me that the good managers were getting blasted for things that were a much higher, overall market issue.
