Pros
-Advancement opportunities without college degree -Discount is great, but effect wears off -There are still some great people that work for GC
Cons
-Company is too late to the ethics/affirmative action party. Lack of diversity for a long time has narrowed customer base. -Touts the mission to become "The Employer of Choice". Nothing more than rhetoric intended to deceive younger people working for GC. Hourly compensation has increased, but the commission structure pays like you are picking pennies up off the street. -Mass layoff this year didn't take care of corporate bloat. -Lack of support from upper management (District Manager and up) on clearly defining pricing policies gives our competitors the edge. -Boys club environment. Our upper management uses sexist language subconsciously, even when discussing opportunities for diversity. -Due to compensation cuts, the average age of associates is getting lower. Younger folks are fun, but look at this as a party during college until they can have a real career.
