Pros

Always really enjoyed the events, partner engagement, community involvement and genuinely liked when I went into the office and the people I met there.

Cons

I would stay far away from H-E-B Digital. The interview process was an unorganized mess from the get go, I was told my career path would be one thing I already had experience in and it ended up being something completely different. Team I ended up on had been working together outside of H-E-B for many years and were a very tight click with some nepotism involved with a father/son duo on the team that only had self interests. Team I ended up on would often crack, racist, sexist and homophobic jokes when in the office and management and leadership were too inept to be able to handle this in a way that didn't make the subject of the complain a target for the click. Leader had zero leadership skills, was likely only promoted because they had worked there for 30 years, Project Manager did all of the heavy lifting on the team, but nobody understood their role on the team and apparently nobody knew how to communicate either. H-E-B was very open about an open door policy in the beginning but that is not what they offer, Leadership in in lockstep the entire way up and H.R. Only serves company interests and will lie through their teeth to protect toxic employees if they deem them to be valuable.

Cons

NO FULL-TIME OFFER! The recruitment process at H-E-B Digital is deeply frustrating and appears to lack integrity. Despite having relevant internship experience and receiving positive feedback during the interview process, I found that the company’s hiring strategy seems entirely reliant on prioritizing individuals recently laid off from FAANG companies. It feels as though they are not genuinely interested in developing new talent or giving equal consideration to qualified candidates who don't fit that specific profile. Advice for Management: Be transparent with applicants regarding your hiring criteria. It is demoralizing to waste time and emotional energy interviewing when the process feels like a box-checking exercise. If you are not actually hiring, do not string candidates along with positive feedback. The current approach reflects poorly on the company’s values and brand. Recommendation: If you are not a recent layoff from a major tech firm, I would suggest looking elsewhere. It appears to be their business model to prioritize those specific candidates over others, regardless of your personal qualifications or positive performance during interviews.
