Pros

I got a .08 cent raise after working there for 6 months, if you consider that a ‘pro’.

Cons

Overwork you. Had me work hours outside of my availability. Short staffed and lazy coworkers at that. They never wanted to help the customers while I’m over here making tons of cakes so I had to help the customers. Upper management was a joke. Wanted all these products out with one cake decorator. Always saw us struggle in the bakery and didn’t try to do anything. This may not be for all HEBs obviously. My location was horrible. Had me work 7 days straight after I came back to work because I had Covid. I actually worked 10 days straight during the holidays as well. Maybe if I worked at a different location I would’ve stayed.

Pros

None. Get out while you can.

Cons

Houston location has the worst leaders. They're cheap with raises and cut the good people so the management team can get better bonuses. They make up rules that make no sense when they feel like. There are guys in the yard who have no job titles but somehow are still working there doing nothing all day? The safety leads/radio room/management are a joke. They cover up for the people they're buddies with. Ran into the gate? Destroy thousands of dollars of goods or a trailer? Ran out of gas in the middle of the road driving the mule offsite? Not a problem if you're buddies with management and safety. If you're buddies with management, you get opportunities offered to you even though you may be among the worst and slowest spotters. If you're not buddies with management/safety/radio, you have to watch your back. HEB corporate needs to look into management here.
