H.O. Penn is such a great company to work for. From the very first day I started, I have felt welcomed, appreciated, and a part of the overall success of the company. After accepting my offer I was sent a huge box of cookies to welcome me to the company and upon my first day I was given even more H.O. Penn/CAT Merchandise and goodies. My very first day working here I was greeted by name by the Company President, Jeff Mitchell, which is a true testament to how invested leadership is in the people of H.O. Penn - With any event, whether it be our annual holiday lunches, wellness fairs, open houses, etc. you will see him shaking hands and chatting with employees. Our CEO sends hand written letters to thank employees for a notable contribution or congratulate an achievement. I personally got a card sent to my house from them to congratulate me on the birth of my child. One thing I really like is that the President and CEO meet with all employees twice annually to provide a company update regarding how the company is performing. They discuss our goals, current standing and projections, expectations and reasoning behind our successes or downfalls. This is not a stagnant company, but rather one that is continually looking to improve and change for the greater good. The overall culture here is relaxed, yet very professional. Employee training and development are promoted to help you reach individual goals for growth and opportunities. Internal growth and promotion is encouraged and supported when possible, and every effort is made to help give employees tools for success. Individual performance reviews are given twice annually so you always know where you stand. I can’t say enough good things about working here.
