Pros
-Good team environment with mostly friendly co-workers, though the drama can get out of hand sometimes... -great flexibility in the hours I work, though it's gotten a lot worse over the past few months. -PTO and Wellness is fairly decent based on the position, but I have tenure, so milage may vary there for new employees.
Cons
-the district team is awful. They want to micromanage everything I do and it makes it impossible to do my job. I've had a mental breakdown at work over the expectations they seem to change every time we manage to have visits and one-on-one conversations based on the state of the store, yet they 'believe in people'. They don't trust us to make any decisions on our own store, then balk at us giving pushback on any suggestions they make that will NOT work for our location. -H&M is fast-paced, I get it, but sometimes they have the most absurd expectations from employees. Their expected time-frames are unrealistic at best. They expect a lot from their employees, and, frankly, the compensation does not equal the quality they expect. -No upward mobility in the company. It took me about 6 months from applying to get my current position, 6 months of waiting, and no answers, and false promises. I watched 4 friends quit the company because of the gaslighting about the promotion process only to have the position be filled with an outside hire who quit within the first few months anyway. -No one can communicate within H&M. A lot of questions we have for upper management don't have seemingly any direct answers, or every person we ask has a different answer for the same question. -Training is a nightmare. Many people come in and have absolutely no idea about what their job entails after exiting training. I was lucky to have prior internal experience, and my training was at a different location than most, but the horror stories I have heard, especially in manager positions, assured me that NOTHING was taught during training. I helped one of my DMs learn how to do their job after their 8-week training period (not my job btw) -Lots of management turnover. Like a lot.
