Pros

Good Salary for AD's and above

Cons

Work-Life Balance does not exist a, we ask so much of our hourly staff bit won't pay what they are worth, we under bid or under staff our accounts all for the sake of saving a dollar. Our AD's and Directors are basically asked to devote their lives 7 days weekly to an account but never do you see VP's and above do the same. We should staff all accounts regardless of size with enough management staff that no one has to sacrifice their families for a job.

I recognize that these responses that I provide can seem redundant, but it’s important to me personally to know your circumstances so that we can help. Much of what I speak to are generalities in looking at the whole company, but I do recognize that each person and each account is unique, and we can better help if we know your personal challenges and which account you are at. We do work in an industry that runs 24/7, and I understand that it is difficult to get away from work at times. By creating a well-organized schedule and training and empowering ADs and supervisors to act in your absence, work-life balance is possible. Outside of certain times like CMS prep, etc. the majority of our managers have been able to achieve this balance, and your vice president can be a great resource for helping you to put the systems into place to make this happen. If there is something at your account that is preventing you from doing this, we need to address it. From a company standpoint, please know that we routinely walk away from business or do not pursue business due to not having enough resources for our teams to effectively do their job. In the industry we run a higher compliment of hourly staff and managers than anyone else. We do have higher expectations and results, but again we have staff to accomplish this. Due to the current economic environment and such low unemployment, we have many accounts that are really struggling to staff, and this is an area where we can help. I also suggest reaching out to Sheldon Cash (sheldonc@hhs1.com), who is the EVP of Talent Acquisition and Development, as he has helped to coach many managers on work-life balance techniques and recruiting techniques that will help in this area. If you would like to discuss I welcome you to contact me directly at joet@hhs1.com. Thank you, and I very much appreciate you. Joe Terry, CEO

Pros

Family-owned business with a large organizational exposure. Offers great pay and benefits with ample career advancement opportunities. I really enjoyed working for all the HHS leaders that I reported to. The company has maintained the family-owned feel as they grew.

Cons

These are dependent upon the customer/contract that you work under. As a contractor, you work for the customer and not HHS, and it's not always the local facility. In the healthcare sector, there's no work-life balance. You have to be all in all the time. Staffing is often really tight with extra-large expectations. Again, this is not an HHS reflection but is dependent on the actual contract owner.

Pros

Some hardworking people throughout the organization that are supportive and care.

Cons

Executive leadership lacks alignment. Priorities change constantly, communication is inconsistent, and there is little to no strategic direction. It feels like pure chaos all the time. The organization has grown faster than its infrastructure. Corporate teams are expected to support the company without the staffing or resources needed to do it well. Chronic burnout is inevitable when leadership continues to praise operating as a "lean team." Employees raise legitimate concerns, including concerns about leadership behavior, yet nothing changes. Accountability seems to depend on who you are rather than what happened. Favoritism and nepotism are blatantly obvious. If you're not part of the inner circle (or family), don't expect the same opportunities or support. Benefits continue to be stripped away, annual raises are minimal (2% or less) with no clear explanation for how increases are determined, and there is no transparent bonus structure. This was the most toxic work environment I've ever experienced. If you're considering working here, I'd encourage you to look elsewhere.
